Chest MRI Reporting

Chest MRI report is a diagnostic document given by radiologist help doctors detect tumors, inflammation, infection, or vascular issues. It help doctors to plan an accurate treatment. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) for the chest consists of imaging and observation of the anatomy, tissue, and supporting structures of the chest. Chest MRI reporting refers to the remote analysis and interpretation of these structures by specialty radiologists, which facilitates rapid diagnosis and timely treatment.

Chest MRI reporting is a service we provide remotely wherein a diagnostic document is written by our radiologist after interpreting the MRI scan image we received from the hospitals, diagnostic centers.. We send these diagnostic MRI reports to the hospitals, clinical / diagnostic centers, doctors or lab technicians online through the email or other communicating platforms like whatsapp, messengers, telegram etc.

What Does Chest MRI Reporting Cover?

Lungs:

Lungs are crucial for the gaseous exchange that supports energy production in the body. Any complications in the lungs can result in complications like abnormal tissue density, solid or fluid accumulation in the tissues, distortion, compression, or collapse of lung segments, reduced lung expansion, abnormal thickening of interstitial structures, etc. Using chest MRI, several tissues of the lungs can be analyzed, such as lung parenchyma, lung bases and posterior regions, and the relationship of lung tissue to the pleura, chest wall, and mediastinum.

Chest Wall:

This is an important structure that protects the internal organs. The chest wall consists of muscles, ribs, the sternum, and costal cartilages. The chest wall is prone to abnormalities like abnormal muscle bulk, soft-tissue chest wall masses, cortical disruption, and extension of intrathoracic pathology into the chest wall. A chest MRI can assess the muscular layers, osseous marrow, and soft tissues of the chest wall to detect these abnormalities.

Diaphragm:

Diaphragm provides mechanical support during breathing. Any abnormalities in the diaphragm can interfere with this function. Examples of such abnormalities are abnormal elevation, discontinuity, asymmetric movement, abnormal contour, and herniation of adjacent structures. Using chest MRI the shape, thickness, continuity, and motion during respiration of the diaphragm can be observed.

Workflow

When a patient reports to the medical care facility, they are attended by a clinician, who assesses their health condition and records the relevant clinical data.

The chest MRI is performed at the facility by radiology technicians.

After the images are obtained, these are sent to Statim Healthcare along with the patient’s clinical data.

An appropriate radiology specialist is appointed to the case.

The radiologist analyzes the MRI images for any inconsistencies and differentiates them from artifacts.

The findings are correlated with the patient’s clinical data to present a diagnosis.

The radiologist then prepares a detailed report encompassing the MRI findings and diagnosis.

This report is electronically signed and sent to the hospital via PACS/RIS or a secure email delivery system.
